        Today, I will tell you a little synopsis from the book that I have read. Of course the book is so interesting, I’m sure.

For the first time, actually I misunderstand about this book’s title hehe. Because I think this book will tell about the children who live in the new forest with fun story as like for the children. But I won’t tell you a whole story. Ok, if you’re curious. Let’s get started !

Synopsis
            This story set in England during the time of the Civil War and Commonwealth when King Charles was deposed and the Roundheads were vying with the Cavaliers. The central characters are the four children of staunch Royalist Colonel Beverley killed in battle while fighting for King Charles. There are Edward, Humphrey, Alice and Edith. Their grand home is burnt down and they are supposed dead,  However, they are saved by Jacob Armitage, a local verderer, who hides them in his isolated cottage and disguises them as his grandchildren. They learn to hunt, harvest, and care for their little cottage, living in seclusion deep in the forest. Eventually after Armitage's death, Edward Beverley leaves and works as a secretary for the sympathetic Puritan placed in charge of the Royal land in the New Forest. He then joins the army of the future King Charles II and after the Royalist defeat at the Battle of Worcester, he escapes to France and lives in exile until the Restoration. The siblings encounter many dangers and perplexities, highwaymen and robbers, spies from the Parliamentary government, and a new Intendant governor over the forest who is determined to capture anyone poaching the deer in the forest. But the siblings are resourceful and brave, so they flourish in their humble cottage, acquiring farm animals and planting small fields, dreaming of the time when their inheritance will be restored to them. His brother and siblings continue to live in the New Forest and they are reunited on the King's return.
