Knowing about Japanese Name Tradition

Hellooo everyone!!
Welcome back to my blog :D Today, I still talk about NAME but it's little bit different because I will share about Name Tradition in Japan...Yeaayy!! :D I hope you will like my post. So, Check this out!

Basically, Japanese don’t have surname. They just use a given name for their family but they started using surname on February 13, 1875. It was officially decreed that all Japanese must adopt surnames.  An additional decree from March 17, 1876 mandated that spouses must both keep their original family (maiden) names. It was in the year 1898 that Japan returned to the old civil law that obligated wives to adopt their husbands’ family name.
Starting from that, all Japanese use surname in their family, as like Korean, Chinese and Vietnamese. Surnames in Japan can be divided depend on the region. There are many common surnames in some regions in Japan. In 2010, there are 30 common surnames. Not only common surnames in some regions but also there are many common particles Japanese surnames.

There are some of the common particles Japanese surname and still many of them that I can’t mention hehe….
Japanese name’s structure consist of surname from the father’s family and original name (a given name). For example :
·         Shiozaki Daiki (the surname is Shiozaki and Daiki is a given name).
·         Yamada Naoko (the surnma is Yamada and Naoko is a given name).
·         Takada Naoki (the surname is Takada and Naoki is a given name).
Usually, for a girl uses “ko” and for a boy uses “ro” in their last name. By the way, Japanese is known as the polite person, don’t they?. Then, if you want to call someone, you have to call their surname and don’t forget to use san. That’s the polite one. But if you already become their close friend, you can call their given name.
Finally, I come to the last session in my story. I think, I just can share you this information about Japanese name. So, I hope my story can be useful for you and you can enjoy my story this time hihi :D. I apologize if you find many mistakes in my writing, thanks and see you again in my next post!! Bye byee ^-^
